Chief Executive Officer
Angelo Vitale is Chief Executive Officer of Rock Central, a Detroit-based professional services organization. He is responsible for the leadership and growth of the company and ensuring the delivery of innovative, effective solutions to meet the diverse needs of its clients.
Prior to leading Rock Central, Angelo served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Quicken Loans. He developed a specialty practice in the areas of commercial real estate leasing, enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance. In addition to his managing counsel responsibilities, he was also an enthusiastic advocate, instructor and guest speaker in the company’s leadership development program. His favorite quote, attributable to Ralph Waldo Emerson, is “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”
Angelo joined Rock Financial (which later became Quicken Loans) in April 1997 as Deputy Corporate Counsel. Prior to joining Quicken Loans he served for 12 years as Senior Counsel with another national mortgage servicing company. Angelo began his legal career as an associate attorney with a mid-size Detroit law firm specializing in the defense of personal injury litigation.
He is a proud graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. He earned his law degree from Wayne State University.
Angelo has been happily married to Colleen for more than 35 years. They are the proud parents of 3 exceptional adult children, and they welcomed his first grandson in December 2019.
President and Chief Operating Officer
Linglong He is President and Chief Operating Officer of Rock Central, a Detroit-based professional services company. In this role, Linglong focuses on strategic planning, leadership alignment, oversees the day-to-day operations of the business and empowers partners to unleash the maximum potential of their businesses.
Prior to her role at Rock Central, Linglong served as Chief Information Officer of Quicken Loans, the nation’s largest mortgage lender. She was responsible for the overall vision and leadership for technology initiatives across the organization – including the launch of Rocket Mortgage, the first fully digital mortgage experience. Since joining the company in 1996 as a Software Engineer, Linglong served in several roles in technology and leadership. Under her leadership, the company placed in the top 15 of Computerworld’s “100 Best Places to Work In Technology” for 14 years, ranking #1 nine times.
Linglong has a strong passion for developing the next generation of leaders. She currently serves as a National Advisor for the International Leadership Foundation (ILF) and is on the Board of Directors for the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC). She is also actively involved with the Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT). Linglong has served as the Chair for the “Experience IT” program, which she co-founded alongside other Detroit technology leaders in 2012. The program aims to provide continued education, work experience and job opportunities for IT professionals and college students as they advance their technology careers.
Linglong has received a number of awards, including the DBusiness 2018 Champions of the New Economy, 2016 Crain’s 100 Most Influential Woman Award, Crain’s 50 Names to Know in IT for 2016 and the 2013 Crain’s Detroit Business CIO Award.
Linglong earned an undergraduate degree from Hohai University. She earned her master’s degree in Software Engineering from the University of St. Thomas and a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Wuhan University.
Linglong resides in metro-Detroit with her husband and three children.
Chief Amazement Officer
Mike Malloy is the Chief Amazement Officer of Rock Central, a Detroit-based professional services company. Rock Central is a part of Rocket Companies (NYSE: RKT), a holding company consisting of Rocket Mortgage – America’s largest mortgage lender – along with other personal finance and consumer service brands.
In this role as Chief Amazement Officer, Mike leads The Pulse (what other companies call human resources), Team Member Learning and Development, Team Member Workspace and Environment, Government Affairs, Event Management, and Audio-Visual. He has also led Rocket Companies Covid-19 response. These combined teams work together to drive our business and ensure that every team member in our family of companies can build an amazing career, enhance their well-being, build a stable financial future, and have an amazing team member experience.
Prior to leading these teams, Mike led Rocket Mortgage’s seven-time J.D. Power award-winning Mortgage Servicing Team. The team assists the more than 1.8 million clients who make their monthly mortgage payments to Rocket Mortgage. The Servicing Team is relentlessly focused on driving an amazing experience though industry-leading client service and technology.
Prior to joining Rocket Mortgage in 2015, Mike held various positions at Bank of America, including Mortgage Policy and Counterparty Relations Executive and General Counsel for Bank of America Home Loans.. At the onset of his career, Mike was a partner in the law firm Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein, where he specialized in commercial litigation.
Mike has served as the Chairman of the Residential Board of Governors of The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), was a member of the MBA Board of Directors, and was Vice Chairman of The Financial Services Roundtable’s Housing Policy Council. He is also a member of the North Carolina State Bar and was recognized as a member of North Carolina’s “Legal Elite.”
Mike received his bachelor’s degree from Davidson College, and his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the Washington & Lee School of Law.
Chief Diversity Officer
Trina Govan Scott is Chief Diversity Officer for Rock Ventures, a Detroit-based company serving the 100+ business that make up the Rock Family of Companies. In this role, Trina develops the strategy and infrastructure that fosters a culture of equity and inclusion leveraging the diverse perspectives of our team members. She is passionate about people and creating a work environment that is grounded in collaboration and freedom of self-expression. She also seeks to build positive connections between the Rock Family of Companies and its local communities by helping to attract, engage, and develop top talent.
Trina joined the Rock Family of Companies to lead the Diversity and Inclusion team in early 2017. She spent the previous 10 years with a public accounting firm where she focused on the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts. While there, Trina launched a youth mentorship program centered around college access in 30+ U.S. urban cities, which helped more than 1,000 young people get accepted to college.
A native Detroiter, Trina is devoted to the city’s communities and is committed to providing underserved young people with the resources necessary to flourish both personally and professionally. She currently serves on the following boards: Mortgage Bankers Association Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Inforum, Oakland University Board of Trustees, Rocket Giving Fund and the Midnight Golf Program.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Oakland University, where she also competed on the women’s basketball team.
Trina resides in metro Detroit with her husband, daughter and niece. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, as well as giving back to the community.
Chief Communications Officer
Aaron Emerson is Senior Vice President of Communications for Rock Central, a Detroit-based professional services company. In this role, Aaron oversees internal and external communications for Quicken Loans and Rock Holdings.
Aaron joined Quicken Loans in 2006 and has been instrumental in leading the communication efforts for many large events, including the company’s move to downtown Detroit in 2010, the national launch of Rocket Mortgage – the industry’s first fully digital mortgage experience and the inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic – the first PGA Tour event in the city of Detroit.
Throughout his time with Quicken Loans, Aaron helped the company grow to become the nation’s largest mortgage lender, while also maintaining its #1 ranking in J.D. Powers’ client satisfaction survey for a record 10 straight years.
Prior to joining Quicken Loans, Aaron served as Senior Associate with Burson-Marsteller, a global public relations firm, where he represented several large consumer brands, including Sony Electronics, IKEA, Lincoln-Mercury and State Farm Insurance.
Aaron earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Eastern Michigan University and resides in metro Detroit with his two children.
Chief Accounting Officer
Brian Brown is the Chief Accounting Officer. In this role, he leads the teams responsible for financial analysis, forecasting, and financial systems.
Brian joined Quicken Loans in 2014 as Director of Finance. Prior to joining the company, he was a Senior Manager at Ernest & Young, where he spent eight years serving mortgage and banking clients.
Brian earned his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
He resides in metro Detroit with his wife and daughter. When Brian isn’t at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking and watching Premier League soccer.
Chief Learning Officer
KimArie Yowell is the Chief Learning Officer for Rock Central, a Detroit-based professional services company. In this role, she oversees the teams responsible for creating and implementing training initiatives, talent development and organizational effectiveness strategies. This includes onboarding new team members, professional and organizational development opportunities, diversity and inclusion programming and engagement strategies.
She joined Quicken Loans as a Leadership Coach with more than 20 years of experience in client service, sales and corporate education. KimArie has an intense passion for team member development and helping organizations thrive. She firmly believes that one’s ability to effectively lead their team and make an impact rests on their ability to be inclusive, build trust and create a dynamic, high performing team.
KimArie has received a number of awards and accolades, including being named one of Michigan Chronicle’s Women of Excellence (2020), Savoy Magazine’s “Most Influential Women in Corporate America” (2019) and “40 Under 40” by the Michigan Chronicle for her exceptional achievements and community service (2018). She serves on Siena Heights University’s Board of Trustees.
KimArie earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wayne State University. She also earned a Master of Arts in Adult Education and Training, a Master of Business Administration, Master of Management and Administrative Sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is currently a doctoral student at the University of Pennsylvania.
A native of the city, KimArie currently resides in Detroit.
Chief People Officer
Jim Livingston is the Chief People Officer of Rock Central, a Detroit-based professional services company. In this role, he leads The Pulse (what other companies call human resources) focusing on the Rock Central partner companies, including Rocket Mortgage – the nation’s largest mortgage lender. Some of the teams he oversees include talent acquisition, development & strategy, team member operations, team member experience, benefits and compensation.
Previously, Jim served as the Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Compensation for Rock Central where he led a team of more than 100 passionate individuals with a common goal of attracting top talent and providing the best candidate experience possible. Jim first joined the Rock Family of Companies in 2002, starting as a mortgage banker and quickly ascended the ranks, holding numerous leadership positions.
Jim earned his bachelor’s degree in financial management from Hillsdale College. He currently resides in the Detroit area with his wife and three children.
Chief Marketing Officer
Casey Hurbis is the Chief Marketing Officer of Rock Central, the marketing provider of Rocket Companies. He oversees all marketing initiatives while driving new, innovative strategies to captivate the audience of the nation’s largest and most trusted mortgage lender and the other businesses that are part of Rocket Companies. To achieve these goals, Casey leads a group of more than 300 team members who make up Detroit’s premier marketing agency.
Under Casey’s leadership, Rocket Mortgage launched two Super Bowl commercials, both starring comedic powerhouse Tracy Morgan, showing why “certain is better.” The ads claimed the top two positions on USA Today’s Ad Meter, the leading ranking platform for Super Bowl spots. This came one year after unveiling the highly lauded Super Bowl commercial starring Hollywood A-lister Jason Momoa, which took fifth place on Ad Meter. In 2020, his team also announced an exclusive multi-year partnership with the NFL, making Rocket Mortgage the first official mortgage provider of the NFL in more than a decade.
Casey’s team led the creation and promotion of the Rocket Mortgage Classic – the first PGA TOUR event held in the city of Detroit. In 2019, the inaugural tournament was the most-awarded event on the TOUR, winning three “Best Of” awards, including the “Fair Way Award” for its diversity and inclusion initiatives. In 2020, the tournament shifted its focus and dedicated the bulk of its fundraising to bridging the digital divide in Detroit – the least connected major city in America. All in all, the second Rocket Mortgage Classic generated $2.7 million for nonprofits, with $2.4 million going towards digital inclusivity programming.
Along with Rocket Mortgage, Casey oversees the marketing efforts for other successful businesses in Rocket Companies (NYSE: RKT), including Rocket Pro TPO, Rocket Homes and Rocket Auto – helping to elevate these brands in their respective industries. His leadership helped place Rocket Mortgage into Ad Age’s Best Places to Work in 2021 list.
Casey joined the Rocket Mortgage family in 2017 after 24 years in automotive marketing – most recently leading advertising and communications for FIAT, where he helped successfully reintroduce the FIAT brand to American car buyers.
Equally important to his brand-building efforts is Casey’s work with local and national nonprofits. Three that are particularly close to his heart are the Special Olympics, the Salvation Army and Bethany Christian Adoption Services. In addition to his community efforts, Casey serves on the Board of Directors for Adcraft Detroit and the Detroit Sports Commission.
Casey is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he can be found cheering on his Spartans every fall.
